Beris Ported Tandem/Combination Bit
The Tandem - To be used with one set of reins. The Tandem bits cleverly distribute the pressure between nose, lower jaw and poll. When the rein pressure is increased so does the pressure on the bars of the mouth, giving yet another point of control.
Suitable and aimed at horses that are very sensitive in the mouth, yet become uncontrollable in a Hackamore the Tandem bits give much better speed control, direction and much more continuity in the contact.
The Ported Mouthpiece - This bit can be placed perfectly in the horse's mouth. The horse's tongue gets enough space because of the flattened area on the port. Many horses react to this with more relaxation and chewing. Therefore this bit is perfect for horses that won't tolerate pressure on the tongue and react with head shaking and such.
At the same time this bit is a good choice for horses that like to play with their tongue and get it over the bit. The port will help to prevent that by removing centre tongue pressure.
The tongue port bar has an especially flattened shape to the port. This gives the tongue optimum room. Many horses respond to this with improved suppleness and increased chewing. This bit is also very well suited to horses that play with their tongues, trying to get their tongue over the bit, as the port effectively prevents this. With a height of 30 mm the port is fully permissible under German equestrian sport regulations. This mouthpiece is thus eminently suited to horses that do not tolerate traditionally shaped bits due to the pressure on the tongue and react by head-shaking or similar. The Tandem US is almost identical to the regular Tandem. With its elegant, black nose band it is favoured for use at sales and demonstration events.

The beris mouthpieces are made of a food safe plastic compound, processed and with a surface finish unequalled so far in the field of plastic bits.
